Welcome to Versado
Thank you for joining us here to share the story of our prized Versado wine project in Argentina.
Our intensive study and exhaustive quest brought us to this small, historic Malbec planting. With the right people around us, we are turning the potential of this vineyard, in this beautiful place, into a promising future.
In these "pages" we will share with you the stories about the place, the people and the passion that create Versado. To accentuate our personal connection, scattered throughout the site you will find speaker icons that will lead you to stories told in our own words, and in our own voices.
But we also believe that it is the wine we make that is the ultimate "voice of the vineyard." Pour some into your glass to truly start the conversation.

News & Reviews
Apr. 2, 2014 - Today is the day! The Malbec is ready in the Versado vineyard, and harvest will begin this morning with processing expected to start this afternoon.
Mar. 26, 2014 - The flag is flying over Villa Viamonte in Chacras de Coria - the recognized symbol that the patrón is in residence. Well, that's patróns, as both Ann and Peter are in residence in Mendoza now. They are getting ready for the 2014 harvest and bottling the 2013s. They are also looking forward to welcoming a number of friends to their beautiful villa, including some winemakers and winery owners from Canada.
"This is very fine, serious malbec, hardly your run-of-the-mill $12 fare. Full-bodied and intense, it shows luscious berry fruit, dark roast coffee and spice, with juicy acidity. It’s got great structure for the cellar."
Nov. 14, 2013 - Ontario's LCBO has gathered a stellar group of producers for their Nov. 23, 2013 release - The Best of All Worlds - and our two new Versado releases are a proud part of it.
"Rugged Argentina has many signatures. One of the more recently minted is Malbec, a world-renowned marker of the country's winemaking achievements. Wrapped up or on the dinner table, a premium Malbec is sure to thrill.
"The exciting new project of Canadians Peter Gamble and Ann Sperling. The name Versado, meaning 'well versed/accomplished,' reflects the quality of the old vines from which this remarkable wine is sourced."
Oct. 9, 2013 - LCBO Vintages has invited us to host a structured tasting and dinner at Boehmer Restaurant in Toronto on November 20, 2013. Their unique concept will bring together the wines that we make in British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia, as well as in Argentina. The event name - Voices from the Vineyard - is taken from our Versado project, but we are happy to share it for this exploration of the terroirs we love.
For the complete list of the wines that will be served during the tasting and with the dinner, look here. It will be amazing to have all these wines together in one place!

March 30, 2013 - Wow, quite the superlative from Gord Stimmell (Gord on Grapes) in today's Toronto Star: "Probably the best Argentine red to arrive on our shores yet is Versado Reserva 2009 Malbec (#316984, $59.95, 92+) with its rich lavender, black cherry, graphite and tobacco box hedonism."

March 28, 2013 - Today Versado is launching an enriched visitor experience on their website. Using the new technology of Canadian start-up ANTVibes of Waterloo, Ontario, Ann Sperling and Peter Gamble have recorded audio files that are now embedded in various pages of their website. This makes Versado the first ever to use Audible Product Tags (APTs). APTs will also bring the "voices of Versado" to Twitter, as well as to Versado's newsletters and emails. Full news release
